Hello. I’m Jared. Freelance writer, photographer, traveler, history and anthropology enthusiast. Graduate of Loyola University Chicago where I studied Middle Eastern and North African history and culture. Prior to my studies, I served as an infantryman with the 10th Mountain Division from 2004-2010.

Impromptu Exploration focuses on my travels to places off the beaten path as well as the sights and scenery of the Second City. I’m usually exploring when I’m not at home with my girlfriend Ashlee, our bird, and our three dogs.

Queens born; Phoenix raised; Gypsy at heart; in Chicago now; but looking westward.
